"Writers write!" Have you heard that before? We know that as writers we must write, but how can we do it? Our lives are so busy. This blog is my attempt to put my writing first. I hope it helps you do the same.
What is Creative Nonfiction?
Creative nonfiction is "the literature of reality" according to Lee Gutkind, "Godfather" of the movement and founder of Creative Nonfiction Magazine.
Creative nonfiction writers use the tools of fiction--vivid imagery, compelling dialog and heart-pounding plot twists--to tell stories of every day reality.
Or as Gutkind says "creative nonfiction writers do not make things up; they make ideas and information that already exist more interesting and, often, more accessible."
I am a writer who often feels pangs of guilt for not writing. I love creative non-fiction because it allows me to use the techniques of fiction to explore the many intriguing events that happen in the "real" world.
When I'm not doing this, I walk in the world as a holistic business lawyer, law professor, spiritual seeker and all around Curious George(tte).
Tell me about your experience with the written word.
I write about anything
that interests me--
from art and culture
to
food, history, law and
the natural world.
Of course you can just
scroll through this site
to see what catches your
attention.
But you might want to
check out the
"Story Series" section
I have created on the
lower left column.
There
I have
grouped together
essays and artwork
based on some broad
themes.
I'd love to hear from
you,
so please leave
a comment -- and
keep coming back!
